Basic Knowledge

Know your phone number. Give it out accurately. Seriously.

It's not an excuse that you never have to dial your own cell phone number.

I'm not sure which is worse- Not knowing your own phone number, or giving out a fake one. But in terms of customer expectations, the results are the same: Incompetence.

Initially, I just brushed aside your concerns -- but after my, as of now, short-lived experience with scootertronics, it has been a complete disaster. Will keep you up-to-date.

I advise ALL potential customers of scootertronics to go elsewhere.

Follow-up:

I don't believe I have ever dealt with a supposedly 'legitimate business' that has been so unprofessional and immature in the way that they deal with their customers. It seem as if those who are running the show at scootertronics have not graduated from High School and seem to believe that by giving sarcastic and demeaning replies to their customers is in some way effective.

My issue went as follows: I ordered a scooter Monday night after having been told Monday evening that they were in stock. I have not heard back from them or been given any kind of shipping confirmation - it is now Thursday afternoon. So I called them and whomever I spoke to on the phone (I presume it was Michael) basically told me that they were out of stock, that whatever he told me prior to placing my order was completely irrelevant, and was a complete asshole to me on the phone. I was simply calling to get a status on my order, there was no need for him to be so rude.

So I then decided to cancel my order. Michael responded by claiming I needed to do so within the initial 24 hours after I first placed the order -- of course, having no contact with them except that which I initiated myself left me in the dark as to the completely inaccurate information they had given me, so how was I to know I should go ahead and cancel my order? Nonetheless, Michael stated I had no reason to cancel my order, so I gave him very specific details in which a refund would be fully justified.

His response? A childish response that could not be read by any sane human being without picturing the writer crying and sucking his thumb, riddled with sarcasm and a childish demeanor that ridiculed any customer who dare take seriously what they have written on their website.

I explained to him once again the desire of this customer to handle the matter in a professional manner, stating "There is no need for you to handle this immaturely or unprofessionally as you have. You are a grown man and supposedly a legitimate business." Finally, he responded simply with the words "Cancelled Good Luck".

Hopefully this means my credit card will be refunded in full without any hassles, but I will be calling my credit card to make sure this is handled appropriately.

Buyer beware: do not order from scootertronics if for no other reason than they are overgrown children unable to handle their customers in a professional manner, and are unable to accurately inform their customers about the products they offer for sale.

UPDATE: As of writing this, I received a follow-up e-mail from Michael that could best be described as another childish rant that has absolutely nothing to do with the matter at hand. Why the need for such an e-mail, I am not sure -- the issue should have been resolved by now? Are these guys serious?! They call this a business?

nightmare, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. At least you seem to have gotten out early enough in the process to avoid future disasters- which I can almost guarantee will occur with this company.

I'm glad that you have found this blog. Hopefully it means that others will find it as well. It's time that disrespectful people who run bad businesses find out that disgruntled customers can, and will fight back.

On a more positive note, I hope that you do find yourself a good scooter that you can enjoy in this weather. Thanks for commenting!
